Plein Air Sac 2021

Plein Air Sac is a community arts program that brought together plein air painters and photographers at locations throughout the Sacramento region with the goal of raising community awareness for our mission and funding our efforts to increase youth art experiences. In 2021, we hosted six days between July and September, as well as an artist reception and a juried art show. 

At the painting events, we brought together artists and the public in a celebration of the Sacramento tradition of "en plein air". Many of these events were open to the public and art novice artists intermingled with established local artists. 

In addition to these events, Plein Air Sac sponsored several youth art education days, where children received instruction in color theory, composition, and art expression from our many volunteer art educators.

In addition to these efforts, Plein Air Sac was successful in raising money to provide much-needed art supplies to local elementary students and sponsor an aspiring artist to the Crocker Art Museum summer art camp.
